Job Closing
Manages the development and administration of a comprehensive internal labor relations program. Major activities include negotiation of MAC’s thirteen collective bargaining agreements as the chief spokesperson; contract administration; grievance and contract mediation and arbitration, including interest arbitration; BMS hearings and Veterans Preference hearings; labor/management committees; compensation and benefits strategy in conjunction with other HR and Finance staff; training and support of managers and supervisors working in unionized environments. Responsible for the smooth implementation of the labor contracts through the various HR and Finance teams and works to coordinate the labor strategy within the larger HR strategy to provide a consistent perspective of MAC as an employer.
Advises MAC on external labor relations issues including minimum wage, project labor, worker retention and union organization of non-MAC airport employees.
Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on a variety of employee relations topics to assist the Business Partner team including Drug Testing, Federal Motor Carriers Commercial Driver's License Program and internal (non-EEOC) investigations.
Integrates labor relations strategy within the larger Human Resources and Finance functions, including working with the Assistant Director of Human Resources to administer the compensation and classification function, including chairing the internal HR classification/compensation committee. Assists the DEI team with efforts to establish workforce pipelines and trainee programs within unionized workforce and provides input to employee engagement and leadership development efforts.
