The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has been working aggressively to keep the traveling public and employees safe from the COVID-19 virus (the strain of the latest coronavirus outbreak).

The MAC, which owns and operates MSP, is in daily contact with its many partners – from airlines to the local Centers for Disease Control (CDC),  the Minnesota Department of Health, Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Customs and Border Protection – to ensure MSP remains open and operating safely.

The MAC has ramped up cleaning and disinfecting procedures for MSP touchpoints throughout Terminals 1 and 2. Our cleaning partner, Marsden, has established a formal COVID-19 response team and microbial remediation plan for all touchpoints throughout public spaces.

Enhanced focus areas include high-use restrooms, terminal seating, public handrails and food courts.

In addition, our cleaning partner is conducting extra disinfection of public spaces throughout MSP, and hand sanitizers have been placed in many high-traffic locations throughout Terminals 1 and 2.

We are working diligently to use the best information available to protect the safety of the traveling public and our employees, and to minimize the impacts to our airports.

Thank you for your continuing interest in the MAC and support of our vital role in connecting our region to the world.
