MSP NOC March 2024 Meeting Update

March 25, 2024

The latest Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) meeting was held last week on March 20. At this meeting, the 2023 Annual Noise Conour Report was presented, establishing those residents that entered their first year of eligibility for the Residential Sound Mitigation Program. MAC staff shared operation, complaint, and sound event data, comparing January and February 2024 to those same two months in 2023.

MAC staff also shared information on upcoming runway construction projects and runway closures that will take place periodically over the next two years. This summer, Runways 12L/30R and 4/22 will be closed commencing on June 3, 2024, through September 21, 2024. At the NOC meeting, Air Traffic Control shared runway use configurations that could be used during the upcoming closure. Additionally, Runway 12R/30L will be closed for two six-week periods in 2025. A new Runway Construction web page is now available on the MAC website at: https://metroairports.org/runway-construction

The NOC is an advisory board to the MAC and is comprised of industry and community representatives who address aircraft noise issues associated with activity at MSP. The group meets on the third Wednesday of odd-numbered months. The next NOC meeting will be May 15, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. Agendas and meeting materials for NOC meetings and information on how to participate may be found here: NOC Meetings.
