Metropolitan Airports Commission promotes Alison Kelly, Nicole Kiefer to human resources leadership roles
Their leadership will strengthen the MAC's labor relations, compensation practices, benefits and employee engagement
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has promoted Alison Kelly and Nicole Kiefer to senior leadership roles within the Human Resources and Labor Relations department. Kelly is now the director of labor relations and total rewards and Kiefer is now the director of talent acquisition, development and engagement.
“Having Alison and Nicole in these leadership roles positions our team to better support the MAC's workforce following our recent growth,” said Kathy Megarry, vice president of human resources and labor relations at the MAC. “They bring complementary expertise and strong relationships that will help us continue to attract and develop talented employees. Their leadership will strengthen our approach to labor relations, compensation practices, benefits and employee engagement.”
As director of labor relations and total rewards, Kelly will lead the MAC’s labor strategy and represent the MAC in union contract negotiations. She will also oversee the MAC’s benefits programs and will co-chair the organization’s compensation committee that is focused on maintaining consistent pay practices across union and non-union employees.
Kelly joined the MAC in 2024 as the labor and employee relations manager responsible for 13 collective bargaining agreements that cover approximately half of the MAC’s workforce. During her career, Kelly has negotiated more than 60 collective bargaining agreements and previously served as labor relations manager for Ramsey County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Augsburg University and a master’s degree in psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School.
In her new role as director of talent acquisition, development and engagement, Kiefer will lead hiring, onboarding and enterprise learning and development, as well as employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives. She will oversee the HR business partner team that supports MAC departments and will co-chair the compensation committee with Kelly.
Kiefer has worked at the MAC for more than 24 years, most recently serving as assistant director of human resources. During that time, she has helped shape the MAC’s approach to compensation and employee relations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a master’s degree in human resource management from Concordia University-St. Paul.
