Lake Elmo (21D) - For Pilots

21D has two runways. Runway 14/32 is 2,850' x 75', while Runway 4/22 measures 2,497' x 75'. There are two non-precision instrument approaches to the airport.

Pilots use common traffic advisory procedures flying to and from the airport, which has no air traffic control tower.

Services for pilots and aircraft are provided by one fixed-base operator and an aircraft maintenance provider. These services include fueling, flight training and aircraft maintenance.

21D is an easy drive to the St. Paul business district or to scenic destinations along the St. Croix River, such as Stillwater, MN and Hudson, WI, and is conveniently located for both business and leisure travelers.

Noise Abatement Plan

The 21D Noise Abatement Plan was developed to promote aircraft operating procedures that help reduce aircraft noise and overflights for residents living near 21D. Pilots may also reference the 21D pilot guide for easy access to noise abatement information.

Guidance for Aircraft Operating Under Visual Flight Rules
