Girls in Aviation Day returns Sept. 25

September 07, 2021

After going virtual in 2020, the Stars of the North's Girls in Aviation Day is returning to Flying Cloud Airport on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the new Jet Lynx Private Hanger at Flying Cloud Airport, located at 10110 Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie.

The event will offer speakers, exhibitors, educational activities, demonstrations and static displays. Attendees can meet successful women in the aviation profession and explore how science, technology, engineering and math skills change the way society lives, works and plays.

Admission to the event is free but registration is required. To register, fill out the online form on the Stars of the North website. More information about the event is also available on the site.

The MAC will be participating in the event with an interactive booth featuring a prize wheel and paint-the-plow activity where attendees can contribute to a mural on one of the airport's snowplow blades.

Global Girls in Aviation Day was created by Women in Aviation International (WAI) to help introduce girls to the aviation lifestyle as well as the diverse career opportunities available to them in the aviation community. Approximately half of WAI's chapters have unique, local events planned for September 25 that offer girls an opportunity to learn more about the profession.
