Rudolph will manage maintenance programming operations, including ice and snow control

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has promoted Mark Rudolph to assistant director of field maintenance to oversee Federal Aviation Administration airfield maintenance compliance requirements at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), the 17th busiest passenger airport in the country.

In his new role, Rudolph will assist with all maintenance programming operations, such as airport emergency planning, airside and landside maintenance, and snow and ice control. He will also play a key role in preparing and administering operating and capital equipment budgets and in aligning the department’s work with the MAC’s enterprise strategic plan.

For the past eight years, Rudolph served as manager of field maintenance and planning, overseeing MSP’s entire fleet department as well as fleet maintenance needs at the MAC’s six general aviation airports. Having started as an airport maintenance worker in 1999, Rudolph knows the MAC’s operations from the ground up. In 2011, he was promoted to assistant manager of field maintenance before moving into a manager position in 2017.

“Mark’s exceptional career acumen and drive to excel make him a remarkable leader,” said Joe Harris, vice president of management and operations at the MAC. “He has established the standard of excellence in field maintenance, and his unwavering dedication to the MAC, our airports and every one of our visitors is a key reason why our crew is held in such high regard across the industry.”

Rudolph is a member of the Association of Equipment Manager Professionals and the American Public Works Association. He’s also a committee member of the International Aviation Snow Symposium — the largest annual event focused on winter airport operations — organized by the Northeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives.
