Metropolitan Airports Commission hires Glenn Lawrence as assistant director of IT operations
Lawrence will oversee the MAC’s end-to-end IT operations
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has hired Glenn Lawrence as assistant director of information technology operations. In this role, Lawrence will oversee the MAC’s end-to-end IT operations, including service, vendor and asset management, service desk projects, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. He will also help identify and implement new technologies, methodologies and best practices to enhance the organization's IT capabilities in support of the MAC’s strategic objectives and business needs.
The MAC operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — the 17th busiest U.S. airport by passengers — and six general aviation airports in the Twin Cities.
Lawrence has 20 years of IT experience with nearly a decade at the leadership level. Most recently, he served as an IT manager at Andersen Corporation, where he oversaw major enterprise technology initiatives and led desktop engineering, IT procurement and field operations. Prior to Andersen, Lawrence held IT leadership roles at Fairview Health Services and the Minnesota Autism Center.
“Glenn is a fantastic addition to the MAC’s IT team,” said Eduardo Valencia, chief information officer for the MAC. “His extensive leadership background makes him the right person to effectively manage the MAC’s complex technology operations, enhance performance and support critical business functions.
His collaborative style and focus on operational excellence will be great assets to our operations.”
Lawrence graduated from the University of Minnesota Crookston with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He also holds an associate’s degree in business management from Rasmussen University.
