The Metropolitan Airports Commission Names Evan Wilson as General Counsel
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has selected Evan Wilson as general counsel following a nationwide search process. The MAC owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six reliever airports in the Twin Cities.
Wilson’s selection is a promotion from his position of deputy general counsel at the MAC. He now joins the senior leadership team and will lead all legal counsel and representation at the MAC.
“Evan Wilson has tremendous experience and credibility within the MAC and the airport industry,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the MAC. “The legal work required at the MAC includes regulatory compliance, legislation, real estate, and operational and policy issues which are pivotal to serving our aviation partners, travelers, and transportation needs across the state of Minnesota.”
Wilson was promoted to deputy general counsel in 2022 and has worked at the MAC since 2004. Over that time, Wilson has earned a strong reputation for his clear and actionable legal guidance and leadership on many important projects and initiatives.
“I am honored to be selected to serve as the MAC’s general counsel,” Wilson said. “I look forward to even more opportunities in my expanded role to support the MAC’s remarkable airport system and meet the needs of our traveling public.”
Wilson has held various leadership roles within the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA). He is currently on the MSBA’s Investment Committee, which oversees the MSBA’s investment policy and portfolio. Wilson received his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a board member and managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul.
