MSP Airport to conduct emergency response exercise May 8
Training exercise will not impact airline flight operations
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) will conduct an emergency response exercise at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) on May 8. Airline and other aircraft operations will not be impacted.
The full-scale exercise will be held between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on MAC-owned property adjacent to the north end of the MSP airfield on South 28th Avenue. The training exercise will consist of the MSP Fire Department, MSP Police Department and mutual aid partners responding to a scripted scenario.
The exercise is an opportunity for MSP teams and partners to test the airport’s emergency response plan and ensure readiness to respond quickly and effectively in an emergency.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires commercial airport operators to conduct full-scale emergency exercises every three years.
