MSP Airport Hosting Job Fair on October 27 Hundreds of Aviation, Restaurant, Retail and Security Positions Available

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL – Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is hosting a job fair on Wednesday, Oct. 27 for airport operators and companies seeking to fill hundreds of open positions. The hiring event will include more than 700 full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs across all skill levels for a wide range of airport businesses including restaurant, retail, hotel, airline and security.

Employers are offering great starting wages and benefits. The airport’s minimum wage increased to $14.25/hour in July and will increase again to $15/hour in July 2022. Many jobs pay more than minimum wage. Hiring and retention bonuses are also being offered by select employers.

“As passenger levels continue to rise at MSP, more exciting opportunities are opening for job seekers,” said Eric Johnson, director of commercial management and airline affairs for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates MSP. “At our summer job fair, we hired more than one hundred employees. Now, as more shops and restaurants resume operations, airport partners are meeting increased passenger demand by hiring additional staff.”

MSP’s most recent passenger activity data from August shows passenger enplanements rose to 70% of pre-pandemic levels in August 2019. In contrast, passenger activity a year ago in August was just 29% of pre-pandemic levels. September results are slated to be released later this month.

More than 30 employers are taking applications at the MSP Job Fair. Job seekers should bring their resume and be prepared to fill out applications on site. Some employers are planning to make job offers during the event. Applicants are encouraged to bring two forms of ID to expedite their hiring process.

The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the ground level of the Terminal 1 Silver Parking Ramp.

Job seekers can take the MetroTransit Blue Line to the Terminal 1 MSP Airport Station, which directly connects to the Silver Ramp. Those driving a personal vehicle can park in Terminal 1’s Red or Blue ramps and access the Silver Ramp by elevator or stairs on the Tram (T) Level.

All job fair participants must wear a face mask to comply with current federal health safety regulations. Translation services will be available for Amharic- and Somali-speaking applicants.
