MSP Noise Oversight Committee January 2022 Meeting Update

January 20, 2022

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) met this week on January 19 via Microsoft Teams. During the meeting, NOC members received air service updates for MSP flight activity from MAC staff and staff from Delta Air Lines and Sun Country Airlines. MAC staff also shared results of the 2021 Complaint Data Assessment and the 2021 Fleet Mix and Nighttime Operations Report

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provided an update on the VOR Minimum Operational Network project. The MSP VOR was previously scheduled to be decommissioned this year but was delayed due to the impacts of COVID-19. Decommissioning is currently scheduled for August 2025.

The NOC is an advisory board to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) and is comprised of industry and community representatives who address aircraft noise issues associated with activity at MSP. The group meets on the third Wednesday of odd-numbered months.

The agenda and meeting materials for NOC meetings and information on how to participate in these meetings may be found at: NOC Meetings.
