Samantha Porter Named MAC Vice President of Finance and Revenue Development
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has selected Samantha Porter to serve as vice president of finance and revenue development.
“Samantha’s strong leadership skills and experience managing high-performing teams across organizational functions will be a great asset to the MAC,” said CFO Tim Simon. “Her collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset will be critical as air travel continues to recover and we position our airport system for future growth.”
The MAC owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) and six general aviation airports in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. As vice president of finance and revenue development, Porter will report to Simon and oversee the departments of Finance, Commercial Management and Airline Affairs, and Risk Management/Insurance. Collectively, these departments have responsibility for the MAC’s annual operating budget, financial planning, revenue generation from airline and concession agreements, and administration of risk and insurance programs.
Porter has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. She currently serves as the chief operating officer of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA), where she directs the operations of Minnesota’s second largest public transit agency and is responsible for the agency’s operating and capital budgets. She joined MVTA in 2005 and previously served as director of transportation and operations manager. Prior to that, she worked in sales and operations at Carey Worldwide Chauffeured Services.
“The MAC has an impressive commitment to excellence that’s evident across all areas of the organization,” said Porter. “I look forward to contributing my expertise to such a dynamic, collaborative team as we work in partnership to ensure the MAC’s continued financial success.”
Porter is a member of several industry associations including the International Facility Management Association, Risk Management Society and American Public Transit Association. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota.
