Dana Nelson

Dana Nelson is the MAC’s director of Governmental Affairs, serving as intergovernmental liaison with federal, state and local governments on behalf of the MAC and its seven-airport system, including MSP International Airport. She assists the MAC’s vice president of Governmental Affairs in the development of policies, procedures and strategies to accomplish organizational goals. 

Prior to this role, Dana served as the MAC’s director of Stakeholder Engagement beginning in 2019. In this role, she developed strong working relationships with community groups, elected officials, regulating agencies and other stakeholders. Dana got her start at the MAC as a noise and operations information specialist in 2009. 

Dana is a licensed commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management with Flight from Florida Institute of Technology.
