Tim Simon joined the MAC in 2020 as its vice president, Finance and Revenue Development, and was subsequently appointed to Chief Financial Officer. Simon has expertise in a wide range of roles related to government finance, supported by decades of experience.
He joined the MAC after serving as the chief financial officer at the city of St. Louis Park and was previously the finance director for the city of Elk River. He also spent five years in the Minnesota State Auditor’s Office.
Simon is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association (MNGFOA). He holds a B.A in accounting from the College of St. Scholastica and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas. Simon has completed the Advanced Government Finance Institute Program and is also an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
