The Lake Elmo Airport Advisory Commission is comprised of appointed airport users and community representatives from Washington County and the communities that surround Lake Elmo Airport (21D). The Commission's purpose is to bring together airport stakeholders to discuss issues related to airport development, aircraft operations and noise.

Long-Term Comprehensive Plan

The MAC’s seven-airport system functions as a unit to manage air traffic in the region surrounding Minneapolis and St. Paul. A key part of that unified effort is the development of long-term comprehensive plans (LTCP) for each of our airports.

Noise Management

The MAC – working together with communities, aircraft operators and the Federal Aviation Administration – has developed several strategies for helping reduce aircraft noise in neighborhoods around each of our seven airports, including Lake Elmo Airport (21D).

Pilot Resources

There are two non-precision instrument approaches to Lake Elmo airport, which has no control tower. Runway 14/32 is 3,504' x 75', while 4/22 measures 2,497' x 75.' Fueling, flight training and aircraft maintenance services are available from a fixed-base operator.
