MSP is a top 20 U.S. airport by passenger volume, connecting the Upper Midwest to destinations across the globe. In 2024, airlines at MSP offered 163 nonstop destinations, an increase from 156 in 2023. Airlines served 32 international destinations, matching the record set in 2019.
More Travelers Passing Through MSP
MSP hosted 37,168,257 passengers last year, an increase of 6.9% over 2023. Nearly 3 million of those passengers flew on international flights, an increase of 19.6% over the previous year.
New Options and New Airlines
MSP welcomed transatlantic carrier Lufthansa, which added a nonstop global connection to Frankfurt, Germany. Dublin, Ireland, also returned to the route map, as Aer Lingus resumed service and Delta added a nonstop route to the Emerald Isle.
Expanding Domestic Options
On the domestic side, Sun Country Airlines added 13 new markets, an increase that expanded its route map from MSP to 100 destinations. Sun Country’s expansion resulted in an increase of 320,000 departing seats out of MSP in 2024.
