2021 Wings of the North AirExpo
The 2021 Wings of the North AirExpo is taking place at Flying Cloud Airport this Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25. Residents in areas around Flying Cloud airport and nearby communities may notice unusual sounds or aircraft activity during this event.
Particularly noticeable may be a circling blimp on Friday from 10 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. and an opening show on Saturday and a closing show on Sunday. Saturday’s opening show will include flyovers of four A-10's and two F-16's and Sunday's closing show will include flyovers of a B-17 and four P-51’s.
The event will include airplane rides, pancake breakfasts, and a variety of exhibitors in the airport's new Jet Linx Hangar. Vintage aircraft will be on display including a P-40E Kittyhawk, TBM-3E Avenger, AT-6D Texan and more.
While not a Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) event, MAC staff will be onsite with an equipment display, giveaways and activities, including "Paint-the-Plow" where children can help paint a mural across the blade of one of the MAC's snowplows.
