Eduardo Valencia
Eduardo Valencia has more than15 years of public sector IT leadership experience, as well as experience in operations, strategic planning, business development and consulting. As CIO, Valencia oversees technology visioning, delivery, and support for the MAC and its seven airports.
Valencia previously held positions with the state of Minnesota’s Office of Enterprise Technology, where he started in 2008 as the state’s chief technology officer. In 2011, he was appointed Minnesota’s deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Information Technology organization, MN.IT.
Prior to his roles at MN.IT and as deputy commissioner, Valencia served as chief information officer for the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, where he led the implementation of marquee projects such as the unemployment insurance integrated technology initiative, the Minnesota Works premier job bank rebuild, and the development of cross-agency, cross-public sector customer relationship management solutions for economic and labor development purposes.
Originally from Asturias in northern Spain, Valencia now resides in Grey Cloud Island. He is married with two children and holds a B.A. in economics and Spanish from the University of North Dakota and a masters in Management of Technology (MOT) from the University of Minnesota.
