Mitch Kilian
Mitch Kilian is the MAC’s associate vice president of Governmental Affairs, coordinating all state and federal legislative issues affecting the MAC and its seven-airport system, including MSP International Airport. He assists the CEO and the MAC leadership team in the development of policies, procedures and strategies to accomplish organizational goals.
Over a decades-long career at the MAC, Kilian has held positions in departments including Airside Operations, Reliever Airports and currently Governmental Affairs.
In his Governmental Affairs role, Kilian actively participates with the Minnesota Council of Airports and has served on its Governmental Affairs Committee. He is a member of Minnesota’s Local Air Service Action Council, and, at the national level is the chairman of Airports Council International’s Political Affairs Committee.
Kilian is also involved in the community, serving on the board of a local hospital and the board of the Minnesota Hospital Association.
Kilian has been an adjunct professor in Minnesota State University’ Aviation program for more than 20 years, teaching airport management and Intro to Air Transportation courses. He has a degree in Aviation Operation from St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and has been a guest lecturer at the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University and at other MNSCU campuses. He has also served on the Industry Advisory Boards for both SCSU’s and Mankato State University’s Aviation Programs.
