Security Background Requirements

To ensure a safe work and travel environment, and to meet the Transportation Security Administration requirements, candidates must successfully complete a background check to receive an airport security badge prior to beginning a job with the MAC. 

As part of the process, finalist employment candidates complete a badge application, provide two forms of approved government identification and are fingerprinted.

Click below for a list of crimes* that would disqualify you from receiving a badge, and thus being ineligible for employment with the MAC, if convicted of any such crimes within the last 10 years or found not guilty by reason of insanity. *Anyone requesting a badge will be required to certify this information during the badging process.

Veteran’s Preference

Hybrid Workplace

The MAC has a hybrid workplace that reflects the wide range of responsibilities and duties of MAC employees.

  • Positions that have work tasks and functions that require an employee to be regularly onsite each day are generally not eligible for remote work.
     
  • Positions that have significant work tasks and functions that can be completed independently using a computer may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week. To make onboarding more successful, new employees are required to be onsite a minimum of four days per week through the first two months of their employment prior to submitting a request to work remotely.
