Flying Cloud Joint Airport Zoning Board
The JAZB's Role
A Joint Airport Zoning Board (JAZB) is tasked with developing a zoning ordinance for land uses around an airport as described in Minnesota Statute 360.061 through 360.074 and Minnesota Rules 8800.1200 and 8800.2400. A JAZB is comprised of representatives from the cities, counties and/or townships that control land use development around an airport. In the case of Flying Cloud Airport the cities include Chanhassen, Eden Prairie and Shakopee.
Through a collaborative process, a JAZB seeks to develop an airport zoning ordinance that achieves a balance between a reasonable level of public safety while facilitating compatible community development.

A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED FINAL ZONING ORDINANCE IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2019, AT THE EDEN PRAIRIE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 8080 MITCHELL ROAD, EDEN PRAIRIE, MN. THE PUBLIC HEARING WILL BEGIN AT 6:30 P.M. AND LAST UNTIL ALL PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD HAVE BEEN HEARD. AN OPEN HOUSE WILL BE HELD PRIOR TO THE PUBLIC HEARING STARTING AT 5:00 P.M. FOLLOWED BY A PUBLIC PRESENTATION FROM 6:00 P.M. TO 6:30 P.M.
