The latest Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) meeting was held this week on May 15. At this meeting, Air Service Updates were presented, highlighting new routes into MSP by Delta, Sun Country, Aer Lingus, and Lufthansa. MAC staff shared operation, complaint, and sound event data, comparing March and April 2024 to those same months in 2023.
MAC staff also shared an update on the MSP Airport 2040 Long Term Plan. The LTP serves as a roadmap to accommodate aviation demand efficiently over the foreseeable future while maintaining the adaptability necessary to respond to changing industry conditions, regulatory environments, and characteristics of airport activity. MAC staff also shared information on the upcoming runway construction and closure, which is scheduled from June 3, 2024, through September 21, 2024. More information may be found here: Runway Construction.
The NOC is an advisory board to the MAC and is comprised of industry and community representatives who address aircraft noise issues associated with activity at MSP. The group meets on the third Wednesday of odd-numbered months. The next NOC meeting will be July 17, 2024 at 1:30 P.M.
