Design and Construction Standards Update Procedure

General Requirements: The Design and Construction Standards are intended to be periodically updated based on the following: 

  1. Ongoing Construction Standards Meetings. 
  2. Completion of open sections within the Design Standards. 
  3. Changes requested by the MAC Airport Development. 
  4. Changes requested by the Consultants. 
  5. Introduction and acceptance of new products or procedures. 

Update Process 

  1. Proposed changes to be sent through the MAC DCS change form which is located here 
  2. Proposed changes may come from any of the following, but not limited to: 
    • MAC facilities staff 
    • MAC design consultants 
    • MAC contracted consultants 
    • Tenants or their design consultant 
  3. These updates need to be championed by MAC staff, who will input the information into the portal. 
  4. The change is then taken through the review and approval process by the following:  
    • Department Manager of the proposer  
    • Senior Airport Architect and Senior Project Manager 
    • Building Official, Director of Airport Development Project Initiation, Director MSP Terminal and Landside Operations 
    • Vice President of Planning and Development  
  5. Notification of this update will be sent through this platform.
