Procedures for Submitting Plans for Permit Approval
There are three separate procedures depending on the type of project and the ownership of the building. They are as follows:
- MAC Owned Projects
- MAC Project Manager and/or Designated Consultant shall distribute one or more sets of plans to each of the departments shown on the “Project Development Review Verification” form No. 00103-1.
- The MAC Project Manager and/or Designated Consultant will obtain the required signatures and forward the form on to the Permits and Inspections Department for the permit file.
- Two complete sets of signed architectural drawings shall be submitted to the MAC Permits and Inspections Department for review and approval. Include the following:
- Plans (two sets)
- Specifications
- Engineering Calculations
- Diagrams
- Soil Investigation Reports
- Special Inspection and Structural Observation Programs
- The MAC Project Manager and/or Designated Consultant shall pre-apply for a permit.
- Upon receiving the completed verification form and completing a plan review, the Permits and Inspections Department will notify the contractor that the permit is ready to be picked up and the amount of the permit fee.
- The contractor will be responsible for payment of all fees associated with the permit.
- An inspection record card will be issued to the contractor. The inspection record card shall be posted at the job site at all times during construction.
- A Certificate of Occupancy will be required to be issued and posted on the site prior to occupancy taking place
- Non MAC Owned Projects
- The Architect of Record or the Owner's Designee shall submit two complete sets of plans to the Permits and Inspections Department for review and approval.
- In addition, one or more sets shall be submitted to the departments shown on the Project Development Review Checklist, see Procedures.
- It will be the responsibility of the Architect or the Owner's Designee to obtain the signatures as required on the Project Development Review Checklist. Once completed the form shall be submitted to the Permits and Inspections Department.
- The contractor shall apply for the required permits.
- The Permits and Inspections Department shall contact the permit applicant when the permit is ready to be picked up, and the amount of the permit fee.
- The contractor is responsible for all fees associated with the permit.
- An inspection record card will be issued to the contractor. The inspection card shall be posted at the job site at all times during construction.
- A Certificate of Occupancy will be required to be issued and posted on the site prior to occupancy taking place.
- Tenant Build-outs at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
